Mark Weston

Born in 1970, middle name Joseph . I have two beautiful daughters, Holly 22 and Gemma who is 20.

Have been active in the pursuit of lots of sports over the years including Football (rubbish), Running - completed London Marathon in 2005, Tennis, Squash, a few times, Karate - won National Championships in 1992, Golf at which I'm also not so good, Gym - became a YMCA qualified Gym Instructor in 2000 - and did nothing with it.

I love Fell walking, favourite place is the Lake District! Walked the Coast to Coast unassisted  in 9 days. Started cycling over 9 years ago and joined Stowmarket District Cycling Club almost immediately. I’ve taken so much from the sport and would like to think given a lot back, we seem to have what I would call a synergistic relationship!

Stand out points for me being, losing around 3 stone in Weight, completed the Fred Whitton THREE times, The Dragon Ride TWICE, MTB Coast to Coast , Cycled the length of Italy covering an average of 120 miles per day for 8 days, taken part in the London Surrey 100 FOUR times, fastest time 4hours 15 min, obtained a 3rd CAT cycling race licence and was Chairman of the club for 3yrs.

In 2015 I completed my first Triathlon and in 2016 I competed in four Triathlons taking two age group podiums and took on the role of Triathlon secretary for SDCC Tri Team.

I have to say, the best experience by far has been meeting, sharing and spending time with some wonderful like minded people.

Trifarm Ltd is in existence on a wave of post London 2012 Olympic Games  enthusiasm ~ we were lucky enough to be in the stadium to see Usain Bolt & Mo Farah win their gold medals on the last night of the athletics.

Having grown frustrated at the narrow time windows available for swimming at many outdoor lakes we sought to open a facility where swimming would be available throughout the summer.  The first Trifarm facility with an 800m swim circuit, along with a one kilometre running track, first opened its’ doors in Boreham, Essex in May 2013, and has been fully open (blue green algae allowing) every summer since 2014. Many thousands of swimmers visit each year, with local clubs having regular sessions, and welcoming swimmers and triathletes of all ages and abilities.

We are experienced endurance athletes having completed marathons in London, New York, Paris and Bungay, Suffolk. Our love of the open water has also meant we have taken part in a number of triathlon events as well as the Great East Swim series.

Ruth is a Level 2 Swim Coach and teaches all ages and abilities at various locations across Suffolk and Essex, being a qualified RLSS teacher I also deliver courses on swim safety.  In addition to the Alton Water triathlon Event, we manage the Trifarm Triple Crown Sprint Triathlon series which takes place in May, June and July each year.

You will also be pleased to know that Ruth is an absolute legend amongst Trifarm regulars for her bake off talent with varied delicious cakes that await post-swim sustenance, yum!

We all look forward to meeting you or welcoming you back again for another go.

Much love Mark, Bill, Ruth x
